Abstract
Epiploic appendagitis as inguinal hernia content is a relatively rare condition and often an unusual presentation mimicking appendicitis or diverticulitis of bowel strangulation. Appendices epiploicae should be included along with another differential diagnosis when an irreducible inguinal hernia is noted, particularly on the left side. Whenever in doubt, radiological confirmation with CT is deemed necessary. If epiploic appendagitis is confirmed, it can be managed conservatively, and definitive surgical management can be planned electively. This article presents a case of a 76-year-old male with left irreducible left inguinal hernia with inflamed appendices epiploicae as sole content in the sac.

Key words: appendices epipoloicae, epiploic Appendagitis, inguinal hernia
