Surgical training of residents in a COVID dedicated tertiary care teaching hospital: A questionnaire-based survey.

Abstract
Background: An almost complete shutdown of routine clinical, surgical, and educational activities in a COVID dedicated facility can be detrimental to the training of surgical residents.
Method: In this study, we carried out anonymous online survey among study participants using structured questionaries to assess the impact of this pandemic on the training of surgical residents in a COVID-19-dedicated tertiary care teaching hospital.
Results: As per our findings, 68.96% of the respondents felt the prevailing situation affected their training. Moreover, 17.24% reported that their surgical training suffered, but it had given them more time to do research and study the theory of their specializations, whereas 13.79% felt that their training benefited from the pandemic.
Conclusion: Covid-19 pandemic has affected almost every aspect of our life. The training of surgical residents is but of no exception.
